An Opportunity to Join…
In an environment oftentimes characterized by scarcity, communities at the U.S. / Mexico border also recognize abundance. We believe that issues at the border are about people, not politics. We believe they represent a counter narrative to the paralyzing fear and political chaos that dominates news cycles and prominent rhetoric. We believe they represent humanity, compassion and the potential for prosperity. Alight is and always will be a non-sectarian, non-religious organization, but we also recognize true humanitarians when we see them. We’ve decided to join forces with the Sisters and Catholic network, amplifying the radical change they’re already making.
We’re asking you to join us: September 17 - 20, 2019. Travel to the border via SE Arizona and lend your ideas to the process of innovation bringing together Sisters through the Color Movement and their collaborative partners: GHR, Conrad Hilton Foundation, Conrad Hilton Fund for Sisters, Alight and IDEO. The best way to truly understand how to help unleash abundance within communities is through a human-centered design process alongside the very community members who live there. We firmly believe in the power of co-creation—giving ourselves permission to not know the answer and convene as a group of people with diverse perspectives will result in a solution more powerful, more creative, more relevant and more successful than any we could ever imagine on our own.

This 4-day design engagement will see the convening of Sisters from multiple geographies on both sides of the border, the families they serve, and larger leadership groups. Donors and influencers from across the U.S. will join teams from GHR, Conrad Hilton Foundation, Conrad Hilton Fund for Sisters, IDEO and Alight at the border.
IDEO.org, a global human-centered design firm, will facilitate a workshop to brainstorm concepts and directions for how Sisters can unleash abundance and expand their reach at the border, through both the Color Movement and leadership groups.
The Sisters will share the personal stories of their work, the people they serve and why they have dedicated themselves to the colorful empowerment of their communities at the border.
